Things will get much much worse if Americans allow their government to continue to pursue prosecution of Julian Assange. It will be the end of the first amendment. Publishing true information in the public interest, is not a crime.

I hear you - however that freedom to discuss ideas in this area has been often labeled as racist or whiteness/fragility. Ostracizing ideas and limiting debate always boomerangs.
