Looking thru Twitter you see people saying democracy is dead, democracy is dying, democracy might die, some even questioning whether we ever were a democracy. I see a democracy under attack and a generation rising up to say “HELL NO. It will not die on our watch.”

It doesn’t exist until we take over.

People are cynical because they want to be real. You can’t treat a disease that is systemic unless you detox the entire organism, being cynical is at least a temporary way of facing reality & that we don’t have saviors in politicians. when we are real we can also fight better.

Politicians are controlled by impulses or corporations and lobbyists. People's opinions are rarely represented, the winner takes it all in all states. Making a real change by voting is practically impossible. The blind allegiance to this form of democracy has never made sense.

Young people rose up to elect Obama in 2008 and he immediately dismantled his grassroots machine. They rose up in 2016 & 2020, only to be slapped down by the Democratic party elite again. Democrats' respect for democracy is very selective.

Thank you. We must all be, do, the best we know how.

A generation that’s easily distracted unfortunately.

“a generation?” As in singular? Listen Linda, I know it’s a tough ask for a boomer, but there are THREE, count with me.... THREE generations that came after yours. And yes most of us are working our bums off to save democracy- thanks for noticing.
