Since Biden is president, why can’t he just appoint a commission to investigate Jan. 6?

Nothing is stopping the DOJ.

Because he/they don't really give a fuck.

I think he can, but it won't be considered bipartisan. I'm not sure, but I think he just really hoped enough #Republican Senators would have the integrity to do the right thing.

We are supposed to believe Trump was an all power authoritarian with unlimited powers, and Biden is completely hobbled by checks, balances, and the Senate parliamentarian.

It would be far better for it to come to Congress, especially if there are ties to Trump or other top republicans discovered. Imagine if Trump just appointed a commission to investigate the Clintons and indictments weee handed out. It would be a scary turn in politics

That makes too much sense for government.

There's this thing in government called the D OJ that could do it if there were laws broken. Why isn't that happening? Why aren't Congress members being investigated for profiting off stocks while in office? Whole thing is a mafia like scam to funnel our tax $$ upward.

Because it wouldn't have Congress' constitutional oversight authority.

Look. The federal government has become less and less effective over the decades by now. The riot on the 6th did its job in exposing the violence of the Trump legacy. The Republican Party is splitting. Now, we must keep our big government policies from trampling the little folks.

Or can maybe they just play the national coverage in the senate if they don't know what happened? Seems like a waste of time investigating someone everyone else already knows about.
