Now that Covid is waning we can get some perspective on what might’ve been different. So many capitalist chiefs, celebrities, billionaires etc. could have called for a $2k/mo. while it lasted - no skin off their teeth. They could have ameliorated so much suffering & chose not to.

My first husband would always say casually that you always know who your friends are in great success and great crisis. We had great highs and great lows, financially, medically, with our children and fortune, and each other. It's completely true. This is not recoverable.

We're all going back to work soon; yet, this whole affair taught me that we should NOT be "getting back to normal". Capitalism showed us that this ideology weakens the health of the social fabric of societies to respond adequately to major crisises and to our spirit.

And now so many red states have pulled the Fed unemployment benefit, I think, Prematurely. We have fewer available jobs than we did a year ago due to closed businesses. Many are going to suffer from this action.
