Someone who can spend $600 on a pair of shoes yet argues with a straight face that $300 is too much to give someone who cannot afford food, should not be a lawmaker.

No one should be able to argue with compassion for those who are struggling and need food... but do you also believe that people are happy to not work and collect the compassion money. I know some who are and I know some business who can not hire.

We should help people during their down time, not incenting them to choose more down time

What a dumb post. Are you talking about the continual payment of $300 a week UI? Or the continuing payment of $300 a month for children? Who said anything about their not being able to afford it? Lake of money for food is not the criteria to get the money!

$600 shoes = their money. $300/month (for life?) X millions of people = OUR money. Not the same.
