What do UBI, student loan debt forgiveness, Medicare for All, $15 min wage, and free college all have in common? The power of government placed in the service of its people. People are not here to serve the system; the system is here to serve the people.

JFK had it right, not you, “ask not your country can do for you, ask rather what you can do for your country.” He had the most enlightened stance, as it is in our nature to serve in a dignified sense.

They’re also things the Democrats LOVE to promise each election cycle. Then they get in office and kiss Republican butt instead of standing up for the people they’re supposed to represent. And then they wonder why people don’t vote for lies.

The real question is, how much more Businesses, Banks and Wall Street would get just to allow these welfare programs to pass through? I suspect it would much more than the supposed "empowering of the people".

Agreed. Money, corporations, governments, etc. are tools/technology. They can be very positive things, but they don't have human qualities. We can't let the tail wag the dog. That's plainly insane.

The system gives unlimited credit lines to zombie corporations. Why not give $50k credit line to every American instead of the central banks. And, have a .02% fee on all trading and voila! Every American has $100k trust fund. There are ways the system can serve people.

The only result of a planned, controlled economy is servitude, slavery, and dehumanization. It feels good to want to help people, but the unintended consequences are often worse than the original problem. Centuries of evidence bears this out and we ignore it at our peril
