A ceasefire is a good thing, but of itself it just treats a symptom. Biden can't truthfully say we stand for "freedom, prosperity & democracy" for Palestinians unless we're willing to condemn the settlements & the occupation & are willing to withhold military support from Israel.

What do settlements have to do with “freedom, prosperity & democracy” for Gazans? Israel withdrew all settlements from Gaza in 2005 and have been met with rockets raining on their cities ever since. It is Hamas that is suppressing the freedom, prosperity & democracy of Gaza.

We're talking about the other side of the country. Buy a map.

My map shows the rockets were coming from Gaza. I checked, no settlements there, and still no peace. Removing security assistance to Israel will only destabilize the region and incentivize Iranian-funded terrorist groups to wreak further havoc.

But “security assistance to Israel” in the form of what amounts to a blank check for military expenditures only disincentivizes them from having to address underlying injustices. Ultimately the only security for Israel will come from providing equal security to the Palestinians.

"Buy a map" is a condescending way to talk to a former resident of Israel and a former professional human rights advocate. It's right there in his bio. Regardless, separate govs represent Gaza and the West Bank, but it seems that you are conflating the two.
