The US had a War Department from 1789 until 1947. Department of Defense now = War. We need a Department of 🕊 !

As Christians we are supposed to be about peace and justice first and war as a last resort.

Maybe that’s the job of the State Department.

It's still a wacky idea, just like Kurt Vonnegut's Department of the Future. Every department needs to be about peace and every department needs to about the future.

A Department of Peace and a Ministry for the Future

Add to this a Federal Housing Authority that has the resources to end homelessness and food insecurity nationwide. There are some problems too large for towns, cities, or even states to resolve on their own, and the persistence in homelessness suggests this is one of them.
