1/ Democrats and Republicans walking in lockstep in support of Israel no matter how racist and oppressive their policies leaned over the last 30 years has not helped anyone involved. It has not helped the Palestinians, it has not helped us, and it has not helped Israel.

Shame on you, Marianne for speaking on this issue with such incredible ignorance! You’re pathetic and irrelevant in this conversation.

If I was irrelevant you would not be on this thread. I’m a Jew and I have great love for Israel. But the problem we have today is that our critics are correct about a lot of things. Until we correct those things, we will not be able to legitimately counter where they are wrong.

I happened to come across your post, that doesn’t make it relevant. Your ignorance shows when you cast Israel as inherently “racist and oppressive” without the minimum acknowledgement of the existential threats Israel has never ceased facing. So, spare me the “as a Jew” angle.

I don’t think Israel is “inherently” racist and oppressive; I think that some of its policies are racist and oppressive. I have more than a minimum understanding of the threats it faces. But I also think that those policies serve to make the threats much worse.

How about the policy they put in place to force Jews out of Gaza so the Palestinians could have a city? That policy was for peace and the Palestinians elected a terrorist organization that constantly tries to kill innocent Israelis and doesn’t take care of their people.
