I wouldn't go to the @nytimes for ANYTHING about Israel. Also, it's not a Palestinian-Israeli conflict, anymore than it was a White settler vs Native Americans "conflict."

These are the events that preceded and sparked war between Israel & Gaza : 1) In late April Palestinians was prevented from gathering at Bab Al-Amoud in Jerusalem. This sparked series of protest which eventually forced Israel to withdraw the orders. aljazeera.com/news/2021/4/26…
