From the paramilitary violence in Colombia and Shiekh Jarrah, to the detention of children on our own border and the militarization of US police departments, the United States must seriously assess its role in state violence and condition aid.

We get that, Congresswoman. Can you please tell us what we’re going to do about it?

Replying to @SamelysLopez @AOC
I agree with you about her. Asking a Congressperson what we’re going to do about an issue is not disrespectful. It’s democracy.

@marwilliamson it’s more than that. It’s holding our representation to a higher standard and expecting accountability. That’s not disrespectful, that’s a duty on behalf of the people.

I wish people would stop assuming bad faith. I hold my friends accountable, I tell them when I think they're doing something wrong. And if I'm confused and worried about something, I try to ask them. It's not always an attack. If my friends have power, seems even more important.

Sure, but once again, she is just that. A congresswoman. Just because she holds office doesn't mean she can single-handedly do anything to solve every issue she talks about. Therefore, your question wasn't really productive.

Could you ask @RepCawthorn that question @marwilliamson? He considers himself the Republican counter to @AOC.
First step for what we do about it is get every member of Congress on HR 2590 the Palestinian Children & Families Act. (@AOC was an original cosponsor) It's @BettyMcCollum04's bill to get us on the path to ensuring we aren't paying for Israel's oppression of Palestinians.
