Yes! Every American student should have healthy food at school. This is a critically important direction for us to be going in.
It's simple: local schools should be able to buy local produce for our kids.  Right now red tape is getting in the way of helping our farmers, our kids, and our community. I'm working to change that. theriverbanknews.com/news/bi…

washingtonspectator.org/wire… a healthy environment is key to learning and growth. ehtrust.org/judge-wilkins-to… our kids need healthy food for quality development, but if they are being biologically attacked, does healthy food matter?

I remember when Michelle Obama’s school lunch program was a . . . FAIL!

Yes ... Local Food ... What a great idea ... It helps the students eat heathy and it gives a huge marketplace for local farmers ... and the cafeteria workers don't have to use so much canned food.

But first doctors should learn what healthy food really is... Veganism is mostly a cult. Nothing further than the reality. We should realize that we are not build to process carbohydrates.

my son says all his school lunches are pre-made packaged food - like burgers in a plastic bag from 1000 miles away. all schools should be required to feed kids only locally produced food - it's worth the cost to teach kids where food comes from.

Yes - but the federal government needs to stay out of it. When they get involved ketchup is counted as a vegetable and whole milk (but not pizza) is forbidden.

When the only food people know comes from a can, jar or packet pushed incessantly by corporations, weaning onto local produce is going to be a challenge.

Problem, the government has a food pyramid/plate as dietary “guidance.” The guidance is for early death.

What will the metrics for what is "healthy food" be based on? Its a legitimate question, because the west and the american people have been lied to about food and health in a variety of ways for at least a century.
