Facebook should be broken up into itty bitty tiny pieces.
Many Republican and conservative members of Congress are going to spend the day expressing indignation over Facebook's monopoly power, vowing to break them up. Great! There's a Dem majority on the House Antitrust Subcommittee waiting to do it. Join them! Put rhetoric into action.

If you break up big tech, it will almost certainly make their promoters and founders way richer than they are now. May be that's a worthy price to pay?

The network needs to be opened. Just like Bell was forced to open it's network. Consumers can choose from whatever provider they want. If you want to access your friends comments via a provider that controls what you can read and spies on you, so be it. That is free markets.
This is very difficult to do from a technology standpoint. At best, you might be able to force them to sell Instagram, but how do you split up an application that has a single authentication system for billions of users?
Absolutely correct, and none of the present management should be allowed anywhere near those pieces.
