Just as the bubonic plague was followed by a Renaissance, Covid is going to be followed by a renaissance as well. A radically new appreciation for the possibilities of life is pushing up from the bottom of things like the tiniest blade of grass pushing up from beneath the ground.

Times are quite different. Monkeys are much more selfish and dumbed down by consumerism. I hope I m wrong but I think only place we gonna end up is rich getting gangbusters rich while poor gonna get more poor. Major suffering is coming for poor. 😢

I've been saying this too @marwilliamson. People were already ready for a massive cultural shift for years before COVID. We were already isolated and atomized BEFORE quarantine, ppl have been dying for a sense of community and belonging in a high tech world. This is long overdue

I don't share your outlook. The way Americans have reacted to these past 2 years has me feeling bleak as fuck. At this point I'm just waiting for armed domestic conflict so I can have a reason to get the hell out.

Ehhhh it's more Spanish Flu. At best you could say a Roaring 20s may happen, but the thing is, the Roaring 20s weren't actually good. Sure there was a cultural shift and reckoning, but it was under the backdrop of massive wealth inequality and an economy destined to bust.
