Job creation is the backbone of commerce and there's nothing wrong with people using wealth to create jobs rather than giving it away. Creating jobs goes further than charity. Capitalists depend on people being able to buy their products. Else they won't have capital very long.
Republicans in Congress view money as something to be dropped like crumbs from the table of corporate aristocrats in the form of job creation. Democrats in Congress say “No, you deserve more than crumbs! We’ll give you a cookie!” I think everyone should get to feast at the table.

That’s the ideal of course but it’s a cruel parody of what actually happens. A 40 yr massive transfer of wealth into the hands of the wealthiest has not created more jobs, it has created more poverty. It hasn’t lifted all boats; it has left millions without even a life vest.

I disagree. Even people below the poverty line have iPhones and modern amenities that are considered luxuries in many nations. It will never lift all ships equally. And no system on earth will. That doesn't mean we shouldn't try for that though.

Nobody is saying we should make it harder for the little guy; we should make it much easier for the little guy. It’s the ultra wealthy who should be taxed more. And safety/health/environmental regulations are needed to serve all of us. Corruption of food & water etc are not okay.
