Given conservative ideals of small government & liberal ideals of good government, Left & Right should be able to agree on ditching the Patriot Act, ICE & the Department of Homeland Security. Each of them represent government overreach & pave the way to creeping authoritarianism.

The FBI doesn't babysit, they pursue. DHS babysits, they are the 'eye' and the FBI the hand. The only reason FBI should 'babysit' is if they already are on you hence a pursuit. Easy to understand.
