Given conservative ideals of small government & liberal ideals of good government, Left & Right should be able to agree on ditching the Patriot Act, ICE & the Department of Homeland Security. Each of them represent government overreach & pave the way to creeping authoritarianism.

When the American right says they believe in "small government", they're thinking about cutting/eliminating Social Security, Medicare, public housing, food stamps, environmental protection . . things that actually help people. They're fine with an Orwellian police state.
