An economic system based more on competition than collaboration will not only fail to solve humanity’s greatest challenges over the next 100 years. It actually created most of them & if allowed to will perpetuate them. We need a fundamental disruption of our economic status quo.

I support a mix of socialism and highly regulated free market capitalism.

Socialism and capitalism are not compatible. An economy is either controlled by the workers or it is not.

Replying to @TheRockettMann
There are many countries that in fact do mix them! For that matter, public schools and police and fire departments are basically socialist institutions. We ourselves have a mixed economy.

Social policies doesn't mean socialism at all. So many people fall under the fallacy of anything social is a part of socialism.
Name 5 of them. Any of the Nordic countries could easily be argued to have higher market freedom than the US. They just have large social welfare programs.
How are they working out for society? Schools are failing, unions are corrupt, money is thrown at & to both as our kids are being dumb down, unions get rich & powerful Nobodies lives improve
Are you high? The government cannot make better decisions for the people than they can for themselves. I think Covid has proven that.
You are economically illiterate
Exactly, it’s why they DO NOT work. Your inner conflict is quite obvious.
Police, fire departments, and education are cooperation, not Socialism. Communities choose to use their combined tax dollars to pay for these services. There is no United States Fire Dept. stationed in my town. Where do you get these stupid ideas?
And all of those things should be privatized immediately.

Only in the last few years have we come up with this weird attitude that if someone doesn’t agree with us that they’ve “disappointed us.” Why have I “disappointed” you? Do we all have to agree with each other about everything all the time? Can’t we actually learn from each other?
