An economic system based more on competition than collaboration will not only fail to solve humanity’s greatest challenges over the next 100 years. It actually created most of them & if allowed to will perpetuate them. We need a fundamental disruption of our economic status quo.

There are many countries that in fact do mix them! For that matter, public schools and police and fire departments are basically socialist institutions. We ourselves have a mixed economy.

We have socialism here Social security, right in the name Medicare, unions , Police, public schools, anything your tax dollars go to , Snow removal Norway, sweden, lots of countries have a mix of socialism and capitalism As long as it's a democracy, not dictatorship

Socialism means that the government takes over the means of production of a particular industry. We have private schools, private police, and private firefighters. No, these entities are not examples of Socialism.

Pretty much every European country uses a mixed economy system and more than half of the 53 countries comprising the EU have free healthcare. The other half is well on it's way too. Europe GOT that candy sprinkled 'pony' a long time ago, because, well, every life matters.

Police and fire aren't federal issues. My own home town has multiple volunteer fire depts and is older than the country itself. Somehow, we survived.
