Every time a politician says they will “go to Washington and fight for you,” we should ask ourselves why it should be such a fight for every American to have a fair shot at a decent life.

I think a lot of people feel scared to run for anything because the DC machine will make them almost unrecognizable. They go to Washington with good intentions and then get swallowed up.

I question the use of the word "fight" when referring to politics. 🤔

To what extent does a politician know what their true beliefs are, when they devote so much time to setting false impressions🤔

Because a plurality of people in each state in our union have a different understanding of "fair."

Our own government officials have normalized this as they refuse to listen to the MAJORITY OF AMERICANS- instead our politicians ARE BOUGHT by corporations and lobby groups that write the legislation. Disgusted by the whole mess..

Life is suffering. I’d have thought you understand that. What causes some Americans not to have a fair shot is nothing politicians can fix. That said, it’s likely some politicians are well-intended; it’s just as likely some say whatever they think will get them the job.
