Um, you are right about how it was used to " back up American values". This is precisely the problem ⚠️ It should be used to protect people from oppression, not used as a weapon to oppress which it has only done since its conception.
Our military was once viewed with great respect around the world, seen as a power used for the most part to back up American values. Today it’s often viewed with great disdain around the world, seen as a power used for the most part to back up American corporate interests.

Aw, I will give you that one, but remember it took a few years for the USA to act. So just how much did the government being done to citizens of Europe? I still have doubts it was thinking about freeing them from oppression.

How much did it do for the citizens of Europe to help defeat the Nazis...? Really...?

Not what I was referring to. My question is if the USA cared so much about the people in Europe why did it take years to act? And was it actually acting because it cared or was there other motives that may be political?

Roosevelt wanted to get into the war sooner but there was a lot of resistance to it at home, not that much different from the way things work now. Pearl Harbor changed that. Congress then declared war after his “Day of Infamy” speech.

Exactly, this government let the oppression continue until it had no choice. They didn't consider the lives be ruined they thought first about personal gain or national gains. But I will give it to ya, I just don't totally agree.
