At what point was the US military ever viewed positively outside of WW2?

there is no good military period and there were never good values it fought for; it always has existed for imperial and geopolitical aims, and to coerce the unimpeded flow of resources

Marianne love ya but the American military has been jackboots for capital pretty much the right after the Monroe doctrine. When they finished exterminating native Americans they immediately started overthrowing governments in South America and haven't stopped since.

Our military has been hell with disdain and supported corporate interest for decades (really since the founding of this country). This isn’t something that just recently happened

The United States Army has never stood for ‘American values’ across the world. Unless the values you are referring to is imperialism, war crimes, murdering innocent civilians, slavery, colonization, etc.
