The issue of our $713B defense budget is not just how much of it is money that could’ve been spent at home in ways that make life better for Americans; it’s how much of it is money spent abroad in ways that make life worse for people elsewhere.

On the local level, there is also the issue of each city's bloated police budgets, for military equipment, that could be better directed to address education and homelessness.

Our partnerships with Saudi Arabia and Israel constitutes a bad boys club of death and Aparhheid. We need to part ways with both and pull out of these wars/occupations.

There’s a documentary showing how our money was spent- there was a huge military truck that had a flat tire. Instead of just replacing the tire, they unloaded the truck, brought a new truck, and left the old one to rust. There’s no safeguarding how taxpayer money is used.

Money used to convert people goes to waste anyway. They revert back as soon as the supply ends. And who can maintain an endless supply. Better to teach them to catch fish instead of fishing for them.
