1/ In a very real way, the shift from a pagan earth-based spirituality to the patriarchal Christian notion of man’s right to dominate nature was a causal factor contributing to what would one day become our environmental crisis.

2/ The environmental crisis and the political/economic corruption that perpetuate it are all fueled by humanity’s lack of reverence and devotion to anyone and anything but ourselves. An overly materialized worldview counterintuitively leads to violence toward the material world.

Paganism is too big & varied to cover in a tweet, but many forms of Paganism had their problems, too. I agree the Abrahamic faiths have definitely put us on the wrong path, though. I believe we need to move to a scientifically-informed, communal way of living in balance w/ nature

Marianne I fear the domination of nature & of each other performed by men originates from the rationalization by humans of ourselves as individual beings each with an individual conscious. Until we act from the assumption we are all one organism we will struggle against ourselves

You know absolutely nothing about Christianity. This is an extraordinary antiChristian notion and completely false. Very disappointing

Here is the churches teaching on climate change and call to action because Christianity teaches humans have a divine mandate to take care of creation (the doctrine your tweet seems to criticize.) catholicclimatecovenant.org/…
