1/ In a very real way, the shift from a pagan earth-based spirituality to the patriarchal Christian notion of man’s right to dominate nature was a causal factor contributing to what would one day become our environmental crisis.

2/ The environmental crisis and the political/economic corruption that perpetuate it are all fueled by humanity’s lack of reverence and devotion to anyone and anything but ourselves. An overly materialized worldview counterintuitively leads to violence toward the material world.

No. This is completely false. If you truly understood Christianity you would know being a good steward of all of God’s resources and gifts is very much a part of respecting creation. Christianity is not patriarchal, the culture it came through was.

True. The Christianity of today is not the Christianity of the Inquisition. But the Inquisition did occur.

The Amish mennonites, retaining the most rigorous forms of traditional Christian patriarchy, run environmental circles around the modern woke environmentalist in our earth destroying lithium powered cars and iPhones.

You are not a pagan. You are a neopagan. Your concept of paganism seems to be rooted merely in postmodern disdain for conventions bred by religious movements which merely ripped off paganism to begin with. Your spirituality is just a gross noble savage mythology adaptation.

What evidence do you have for this assertion?

1/2 I agree with the underlying point that the notion of believing the man to be at the center, and rest of the environment to be there to support the man, is the root cause of environmental crisis we face today. I would not name it as Christian notion as that narrows the scope.

While some of those that took poor care of the earth used scriptures to justify their harm - to say Christianity was the cause of rapid industrialization is dishonest. China and India are two countries with a leading carbon footprint that have no connection to Christianity.

That's really not fair to drop all of that on Christianity.... Rome, Persia, and the Mesopotamians were patriarchal societies and they all had their own environmental criseses... Please don't try to generate a false narrative with bad history. You're better than that.
