The fact that a disturbed 19-year-old kid can easily and legally buy two assault weapons has nothing to do with respect for the Second Amendment. It has only to do with cowardly, irresponsible politicians who are bought and sold by the NRA. It is immoral and insane.

Hear hear. This needs to be above politics and financial gain. The issue you have is the American psyche who believes in the right to defend themselves. How do you change that thinking?

I do think people should have the right to defend themselves. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t have appropriate regulations or common sense gun safety laws.

If you take away the guns there is no need to defend to yourself. This is how most of the rest of the world lives hence the low murder rates. Idealistic...utopian...liberal? It is just peaceful and harmonious living.
