I have as much respect for the Bill of Rights (including 2nd Amnd) as anyone. But for a teenager so mentally unstable that his own mom called police to complain, to be able to buy 2 assault weapons is not what the Founders intended or what we should allow. nytimes.com/2021/04/17/us/In…

How easy should it be for police to strip someone of their civil liberties?

STOP. If he wanted to commit suicide by cop all he had to do was to point that rifle at one of them, I think. But I KNOW DAMN WELL HE DIDN’T HAVE TO MURDER EIGHT PEOPLE. Besides he took his own life anyway. Really Marianne?! You’re too smart to be so

Hard to accomplish when we have a lethal army and police force. How can young people be expected to believe assault weapons are bad when our own government has used them on people for decades?

There are to many unstable people in this world to watch them all ... It's impossible ... we need to restrict guns ... and especially assault weapons!

Well that's why we need decent healthcare. Really the stuff that's happening in the U.S is happening because the U.S government has abandoned its responsibility to protect its citizenry. From mass shootings to police violence all of it is because we live in a failed state.
That's the thing about rights: you got 'em until you abuse them. Our form of government depends on a population that is educated and moral. That ship sailed with the counter-culture of the sixties.

Passing a red flag law is one thing, having the resources and the will to enforce it is another. Sounds like passing laws against collusion with foreign governments, campaign finance, inciting an insurrection............

It is RIDICULOUS.
