1/ I can’t bear to tweet about one more person killed by the police or one more group of people killed by a madman with a gun. Not tonight. I’m at a stage of simply integrating what it means that our country has sunk so very, very low.

2/ The overwhelming evidence that things are completely out of control is a naked truth we need to face right now. It’s in facing it - & feeling it - that we’ll be led to realizations of what it will take to get this country back on track. It will not be a quick or easy journey.

White male domination in our society is ending and certain people are terrified. It's a paradigm shift, and requires adjustment. I've become resolved to giving myself weeping time each day. Guns need to be taken out of the equation. Killing is not the answer.

Madmen with too much wealth-power seems to be at the core of this, even if it's not directly evident. Violence will continue to increase if this isn't remedied. White collar violence is a serious problem.

I appreciate your empathy Marianne. But we must remember that the country has not sunk, it has been this way since slavery and the genocide of native Americans. When we use language that suggests that what is happening now is worse than this countries origins, it is harmful.

As a black man in this country I have learned the police will kill you for ANY reason.and be justified to do it when interacting with them I suggest doing a Bryant Gumble impression and do what ever they tell you.Or you will be protected and served to death
