Is it just me, or is deeming something an “unlawful assembly” a loophole they’ve found in the US Constitution? Don’t we either have the right of assembly or we don’t?

The only real freedom Capitalist countries care about is your freedom to shop, to consume and to profit from others labor. It truly is dystopian and many cannot see this reality.

No. That’s not how amendments work. They are all limited to some extent.

Yep, blanket illegal bullshit, i.e disorderly conduct; disturbing the peace, etc.

It makes me wonder at what point we can declare an "unlawful police action"? Surely, if the law protecting our right to assemble is so easily dismissed when the police dislike our politics, the assembly ought to have the same right to disregard the law giving them police powers?

If we're protesting for White Power, we have the right to Assembly. If we're protesting against White Power, Assembly becomes unlawful. Such it has always been, and at this rate, will always be.

This whole system is a social contract that can be broken at any time if enough people have had enough.

I don't know of any Constitutional limitations to "right to assemble". Any existing limitations were and have been established outside of congressional authority. They're unconstitutional. They're illegal.

It's a confusing term, but when people gather for the purpose of breaking the law, that itself is a crime most states call unlawful assembly. Gathering together to do something legal cannot be considered unlawful assembly.

it depends on your political affiliation. If you're left wing non corporate sponsored you get militarized police, if you're rw nutso you get police protection

I don’t understand all this pushback and debating this simple observation. So now anyone who wants to protest needs a lawyer, a detailed traffic schedule/map, knowledge of permits and more?? Buying into the never-ending complications of bs politics for approval of the tribe.
