Is it just me, or is deeming something an “unlawful assembly” a loophole they’ve found in the US Constitution? Don’t we either have the right of assembly or we don’t?

Precisely why I sued the LA County sheriff.

I think it’s just one of the limits on the bill of rights. Like free speech doesn’t allow for hate speech or yelling fire in a theatre. In theory it’s a good thing, but that power is being horrifically abused by authorities.

Its seems like all we got are loopholes, anyone feelin' me on this? We have more things in America thay are called ridiculous names because we are defiant Americans. But now we have gone straight up "up is down, yellow is purple, and The Constitution is whatever conservatives say

My thoughts precisely. It is a case for a lawsuit against the police. They are destroying the 1st Amendment. The term unlawful assembly directly contradicts the 1st Amendment. No one needs to seek permission to assemble for a protest.
Hey, you voted for nothing will fundementally change...NOT ME. THIS IS WHAT THAT LOOKS LIKE🤷🏻‍♀️

fascists gonna fash... whatever happened to my grandparents’ GOP? I blame the Citizens United ruling the death of democracy in the US. Elections are now de facto auctions and power goes to the billionaires with the deepest pockets.

SCOTUS created time, place, and manner restrictions on 1A rights: though the gov’t can’t block your ability to assemble, they can dictate acceptable hours and places you may do so. It’s tricky in cases like this because my perspective is that noncompliance is the point.
