I know people are going to laugh at me about this but it always strikes me how these birds never look in the mirror so they actually have no idea what they look like.

As a kid we had parakeets, they never stopped looking at themselves in the mirror...and for birds in the wild there are other reflective surfaces besides mirrors

Yes, stunning but a miracle of nature, natural selection over eons, not some all knowing master in the sky interacting with humanity. I love you, but not your faith problem.

Of course they know! Their wives and husbands are always telling them how handsome and beautiful they are! ;D xx

dunno ...I doubt we humans know what animals perceive or don't . ie they communicate telepathically, tap into a higher consciousness "database"...so them not knowing what they look like seems far fetched to me. Cetaceans specifically have special skills humans dont even suspect

Body consciousness is not a fixation for birds and animals. Lucky them!
