I know people are going to laugh at me about this but it always strikes me how these birds never look in the mirror so they actually have no idea what they look like.

Actually I Think That's Pretty Awesome, Curious Though As To Why? Maybe Because They Don't Need A Mirror To Know Their Beautifully Gorgeous, Don't Know. That's Just My Opinion As I've Always Found Birds & Wolves To Uniqley Fascinating.

Actually, it's for the female birds to look at male birds, find them beautiful and be willing to mate and produce offsprings. Wonder of evolution.
Ironically, many blue jays will attack mirrors because they think their reflection is another bird. They will peck themselves bloody trying to fight with their "foe", perhaps because they feel threatened by its beauty?
