Not about training. Priorities and power. We lack the power and don’t think it’s a priority that police behave differently

Many US Police Officers are trained in the military and bring that training and that mindset to Policing. And that’s not even touching the motivations for pursuing a career in law enforcement for some people... the power and authoritarianism, or the element of white supremacy.

Police candidates are disqualified if they score high on an IQ test. They aren't hiring the best and brightest.

So is this a post about how the whiter a country gets the less violent it gets? Cause those countries have very little diversity. Seems odd to be pushing such a white supremicist topic.. but you do you. Also ignore the "gang banger" culture we have here that they don't have...

The picture of the USA cops is a little bit unfair to have them in their riot gear. However the training for people with that amount of discretionary power, to take away your liberty or even your life is woefully inadequate here in U.S.
This is well-intentioned, but training alone won't solve the problem. The US police are doing what they're trained to do: intimidate the poors, and protect property owners and property. Having more intelligent officers doing that will just make them more efficient at it.
