US removing 2500 troops is announced the same week as a $713B defense budget & $23B arms sale to UAE. “Create this shiny thing over here so they won’t look over there!” Troops in Afghanistan is a symptom; deeper cause is a perpetual war machine to which both parties are beholden

Sorry I support you but I disagree with you on this one thing. We need a bigger military budget we can’t let China or India ever put compete us. We need to continue being a formidable force and ally.

China has 22,000 miles of high-speed rail & 22,000 under construction. They are crushing us in ways that go way beyond military & thinking a bigger military will fix it is the oldthink we have to let go. Notice how they drew your attention from the Middle East to India and China!

And the perpetual growth of the war machine is supported in large part by the "we need to create/keep jobs at defense contractors" argument, which could be largely circumvented if we implemented a UBI that prevented people from being hungry and homeless if they don't have a job.

And Biden felt the need to repeat the lies that got us into the war as he takes us out of it. No change, just troop movements.

I remember when the 3rd Rail in American Politics was Medicare. That was a lie. The 3rd Rail is the Military-Industrial-Complex. They can not account for $TRILLIONS of tax payer dollars and both party's say "here, have $Billions more".
