The United States has military bases in 70 countries, on every continent except Antarctica. Our gargantuan global military presence does not make the world safer; if anything it makes it more dangerous.

maybe, but the amount of warfare endured by the average human in his/her lifetime has been falling for a long time, with the only recent upticks being the two world wars. the second war would not have happened without American isolationism.
