this is also an excellent example of the impact implicit bias has on policing. police officers are MUCH more likely to accidentally pull the trigger on Black people than white people, and it leads to horrific outcomes like this one

Why are you inciting violence? This was a tragedy of the loss of a human life caused by a horrific error of a policewoman.

Why should he be tasered? I’m a 70 year old white woman, but I’m sure a cop would not taser me bc my registration is outdated. They have to stop these tactics!

He had an outstanding warrant that was serious enough for the police needing to take him into custody and he jumped back in his car to run from police when he found out he was being detained for the warrant.

Shooting a gun instead of a Tazer happens a lot more than it should and I do think this is mostly unintentional. Really need to look into practices to avoid this. Likely due to panic/high stress situations.
