It goes without saying that criminalizing homelessness does not solve the problem.
The proposition is funded by the Travis County GOP and endorsed by John Cornyn and Greg Abbott. Sadly, the opposition is being outraised 20:1 and many Democrats are voting for this proposition. Can you share the donation link? secure.actblue.com/donate/no…

You probably should have went with "criminalizing homeless does not address the problem" rather than "criminalizing homeless does not solve the problem" The sad reality is that putting a homeless person in jail means quickly solves that persons food, shelter, & medical needs.

You don't live here and see the violent crimes and property damage they are doing. And they defunded our police and they are leaving for jobs in other towns. Order food online after you call 911. The food will get here before police.

Thank you! The right-wing nutjobs who have sponsored this thing ("Save Austin Now", naturally) have spent half a million dollars on it. That's half a million dollars trying to put people in jail, rather than helping them. These lunatics have to be stopped.

I think we're headed back to the middle ages! ... We need a Robin Hood and his or her band of merry men ... Perhaps your endorsed candidates might qualify as a band of merry men!

The gentrifiers see it as solving a problem, their own. They kick the can out of the neighbourhoods they wish to gentrify into other neighbourhoods.

Really 10 million dollar hotel bought to house the homeless. That really make sense if you look in austin there are many jobs there are not being filled. Don't go with the high rent, answer don't live there. had the same, the police linked with non profit and they went to work.

Hos can any democrat vote for this? I feel like state level dems are so conservative compared to congressional democrats, especially compared to progressive democrats
