We need to philanthropists, foundations, churches, charities like @Habitat_org to help purchase land and develop tiny home communities to help ameliorate the plight of the homeless.
The idea is to build a village of 400-square-foot tiny homes with access to mental health and other resources to help reduce chronic homelessness in Salt Lake City. Take a look inside @slcmayor’s plan. trib.al/UbLsVuP
So, “arrest” people for being poor, give them a criminal record to make sure they stay poor, house and feed them for 30 days to sleep on a bench so you can repeat the cycle. Doesn’t seem like a solution to me?
Well if there was true affordable housing this law wouldn’t have never became law. So you’re going to lock up people for 30 days? Then release back to what? The same damn tent or car they were sleeping in? Oh that’s right the car has been impounded and the tent trashed! WTF!
The courts need to be fixed.
When I became disabled I was evicted even though I was never late with the rent. He was afraid I would sue for modifications. I became homeless moved into a Motel that took all my income I had no choice. The agencies said I had to go to a shelter (1)
Doesn’t much matter. The profit our pols get for this is far more important than human life.
At least that’s what I keep hearing from ppl. There’s always an excuse as to why they can’t rep ppl and the bottom line is, there is no excuse.
This is what ppl allow.
