You think that's bad? The shelter with the most capacity in the area, Medford Gospel Mission, forces you to sign a religious conversion contract into some specific denomination of Christianity. Jews, Muslims, Pagans, Catholics and other denominations, and the rest aren't welcome.

Marianne they don’t care where they go they just want them to leave where they are and become someone else’s problem. This is the way our government has chosen to handle situations that are uncomfortable and hard to take in. #grossnegligence

I asked myself the same question when it happened here in Chattanooga. Local governing officials only show support and create legislation for homeless when it's election time. They rely on good hearted citizens, churches, and non profit agencies to fix their problems with this.
