1/ Many climate scientists believe that at this rate within 12 years (!) whole swaths of continents could be uninhabitable due to the heat. The consequences of this are almost unimaginable, yet it’s our responsibility to imagine it in order to avoid them.

2/ That situation would cause massive food shortages and the implosion of whole economic systems, possibly creating hundreds of millions of climate refugees. That many refugees would completely overwhelm the ability of our systems to absorb.

3/ It is not catastrophizing to emphasize that the possible consequences of the climate crisis are nothing short of catastrophic — as catastrophic as other events that have befallen the human race throughout our history.

4/ We shouldn’t accept the possibility that our descendants will say of us a hundred years from now that the problem was that we did too little, too late.

At the end of the Pisces Age-era of saviors/persecution-we engage in its final iconic story. Ignore the true monster of destruction, huzzah a $$$ corp med product as savior, divide over it w fear/hate - what a grand finale. Love is our only possible thread thru into the next Age.

I think it behooves our institutions most, people have ignored the pandemic, the flu 100 years ago, and universally accepted climate science, as being 'fake news'. They not only need to take the lead, but teach us critical thinking in our schools, and how to educate ourselves.📚

Too little would be keeping the rotten system that created this catastrophe in the first place. Just like you cannot fight capitalism with capitalism, you cannot fight the problems of capitalism with capitalism. Capitalism can only be countered with socialism.

Ignore the bystanders who gawk at accidents on the highway and work in unison with the good folks who are ready to confront those issues... not tomorrow not next year Now

There won't be any descendants a hundred years from now if we don't deal with the climate crisis now. Not looking good so far.

Amen.
Imagine you find yourself self-aware, one of many millions of bacteria in a Petri dish (you don’t call it this, you know it as home) & you realize that if the rate of bacterial reproduction, agar consumption & toxic waste production continues unaltered & unabated you’ll all die.

I don't think there will be many left 100 years from now :( But this is exactly what Bernie meant when he said in the first debate in 2016 that climate was the biggest risk to national security of all. The world won't listen.
