1/ Many climate scientists believe that at this rate within 12 years (!) whole swaths of continents could be uninhabitable due to the heat. The consequences of this are almost unimaginable, yet it’s our responsibility to imagine it in order to avoid them.

2/ That situation would cause massive food shortages and the implosion of whole economic systems, possibly creating hundreds of millions of climate refugees. That many refugees would completely overwhelm the ability of our systems to absorb.
