1/ Many climate scientists believe that at this rate within 12 years (!) whole swaths of continents could be uninhabitable due to the heat. The consequences of this are almost unimaginable, yet it’s our responsibility to imagine it in order to avoid them.

2/ That situation would cause massive food shortages and the implosion of whole economic systems, possibly creating hundreds of millions of climate refugees. That many refugees would completely overwhelm the ability of our systems to absorb.

3/ It is not catastrophizing to emphasize that the possible consequences of the climate crisis are nothing short of catastrophic — as catastrophic as other events that have befallen the human race throughout our history.

4/ We shouldn’t accept the possibility that our descendants will say of us a hundred years from now that the problem was that we did too little, too late.

I'm not sure that "believe" is the right word here.
Global warming will become so extreme in the next 20 to 60 years that average temperatures in the tropics, subtropics and elsewhere will soon be hotter than the hottest heat waves of the past century, with many regions no longer able to support agriculture.newscientist.com/article/dn1…

Thus, the climate (God forbid) will overtake the globalists in reducing the population. God knows the superfluous! I believe in God and His right decisions. And you?

It's worse than that. And does not have to be imagined as it is happening right now. We must wake up to the danger posed by weather warfare that exacerbates already deteriorating anthropomorphic climate change. youtube.com/G_NYNt1I6-Q

Marianne, is your post today a quote from 25 years ago, by any chance? I seem to remember this quote being said with all due authority sometime back in the last century.

Destroying our planet and likely ourselves in the pursuit of illusions (economies, profit, money) is the ultimate stupidity of all time. Anyone that supports these ideas is NOT THINKING LOGICALLY but instead being driven by their own ego. Egocide is real.

yeah, but Kim Kardashian is a billionaire, so it's probably ok.

With the appropriate application of already existing science and technology we have the resources to stop all this shit now. What we don't have is the money. So why do we persist with money based economy? We need to switch to #ResourceBasedEconomy @tzmglobal @TheVenusProject

Actually it's too late to avoid, we can only mitigate and that's not going to be by much. I suggest northern Thailand, near enough to the equator for stability but altitude to alleviate the worst heat.
