The US government didn’t put a price tag on how much it was willing to pay to defeat Hitler, and it shouldn’t put a price tag on how much it’s willing to pay to mitigate climate change. Money should not be the determining factor in defeating an existential threat.

If we are going the prevention route then you are making the correct argument. The problem is every estimate I have seen for mitigation says mitigation is very cheap with most of the bill more than 50 years away.

Equating Hitler with climate change is nonsense. UN sustainable development goals are framework for global finance capitalists’ investment strategies against the masses. Researcher Alison McDowell is exposing this wrenchinthegears.com.

If we are going to be serious about doing something about climate change, this is equivalent to doing little or nothing. Did we say in 1941, "let us hire 140,000 soldiers over the next 10 years to fight German expansionism" and ClCh is much bigger nationalww2museum.org/studen…

So now that the war on drugs is winding down, we need a war on climate change? Government programs are slow and rarely work.

That's a very good point ... we should be doing what ever we can ... at what ever the cost ... to push back this inevitably!

To defeat climate change the US would have to redirect the profit-taking of fossil fuel industry into green technology and products immediately. It would take the massive redirection of the economy similar to WW2 efforts. We need another FDR with the guts to act. #GreenNewDeal
