To all the materialists who think the incredible designs of nature - including on fish, birds, flowers and even caterpillars - emerge from nothing more than the most reductionist scientific evolutionary forces, I joyously disagree with you.

I don’t think science is antithetical to religion at all. But “Spend more time supporting nature?” What does that even mean? The environmental crisis by the way derives much less from lack of study of nature & much more from the fact that not enough people stand in awe before it.

I find nature more wondrous through understanding evolution rather than thinking some magician poofed everything into existence.

I don't see how belief in an unproven invisible supernatural is necessary for one to experience awe at nature/evolution/the material world/reality/etc.

The environment crisis is a direct result of profit over environment. Religion has played a part in it as well. What Church stands for environment? I've yet to see one speak out aginst fossil fuels, the fishing industry destroying our oceans. I guess because gay marriage is worse

It’s not “rather than” evolutionary pressures. Spirituality and science are not mutually exclusive portals into a deeper understanding of the universe.
