To all the materialists who think the incredible designs of nature - including on fish, birds, flowers and even caterpillars - emerge from nothing more than the most reductionist scientific evolutionary forces, I joyously disagree with you.

I shouldn’t have used the word “reductionist” that way. The people criticizing me on that one are right. My bad. Sorry.

lol...if you mean by reductionist that it plays a part in its survival and/or reproduction as developed over generations through adaptive mutations yes I disagree with your assessment there's a divine creators hand at work how'd you explain the 'ugly' even 'disgusting' creatures

All due respect, I don't think you ever grasped the actual meaning of "evolution". This is the root cause

What about evolution is reductionist?

But you have no evidence that gives you a reason to disagree with it. Why hold a position based on nothing more than an emotional feeling?

I joyously disagree with you too. I think we can understand beauty in naturalism without having to resort to supernaturalism.

These can all be appreciated just as highly by materialists! The mechanism (not design) of natural selection is awe inspiring precisely because of its humble origins as a single atom of matter! The Jesuit philosopher-paleontologist Pierre Teilhard de Chardin would probably agree

It took billions of years. Humans weren't even around until 100,000 years ago. Imagine how humans could evolve in a billion years.

maybe part of what’s so incredible about nature is that evolutionary forces CAN produce such immense beauty. chirp chirp :)
