Every American could have healthcare. Every American child could have a world-class education. Every American could have the education or training to give them a fair chance at an abundant life. Every worker in America could have a fair wage. We could...but we choose not to.

The US is like a bad pet owner who keeps getting more pets while they aren't taking care of the ones they already have.

When pigeons are fed, they automatically calculate a little spot for themselves where they pick the seeds, dependent on the number of pigeons present. They all take an equal share, so that the species has a fair chance of survival.

We voted for a president who is trying to address everything all at once. He is doing a wonderful job. His opponents are trying to bring him down. He could go much faster if not for that fact. It’s not true that “we choose not to.” It’s the R’s that choose that.

It is even easier than that. We need not rich persons tax money to do it. We just create the money and do it. The only tripwire is inflation, which at $27T of debt still hasn’t moved. When we accept MMT macroeconomics, we realize poverty in this country is really a POLICY.
