Unregulated capitalism is a scourge on our planet, a parasite sucking the lifeblood out of our species, and a one-way ticket to global destruction. If we continue to allow concerns of the marketplace to dominate how we function, we won’t last on this planet for another 100 years

This is why the 1980 Presidential election is the turning point in American history. A huckster...an actor.. convinced everybody that Gov't. should have no say over business.

Remove the first word and the sentiment is perfect.

I’m not even confident America will last another 10 years

We need to answer not only the question of what kind of economic system (without labels "capitalism", "socialism") we want to create, but also the main question - about the role of human beings in the Universe & the Sense of Human life in the Anthropocene: proza.ru/2020/02/10/760

You keep adding "unregulated" before the word "capitalism". Tell me, Marianne, once capitalism is regulated, what will stop capitalists from buying off the regulators again, as they have always done?

I’m starting to wonder if the word capitalism is too abstract and vague. Consumerism is more direct and focuses on the part of Capitalism that causes most environmental damage.

I agree, even w/ regulated capitalism there's a financial incentive for infinite growth under a finite set of resources and to outsource and exploit workers to have a comfortable living for a few But I'll take any critique of capitalism since it's truly a corrupting beheamoth
