This tweet really encapsulates how fiscal leftism is just based on a fundamental misunderstanding of how wealth creation works
It shouldn’t have to be said, but a righteous person doesn’t want to create wealth at the expense of other people getting a chance to.

In capitalism, you only get money if you provide a product/service that someone else wants. In other words, you only get rich by making other people’s lives richer. Jeff Bezos earning money from Amazon doesn’t take away my slice of the pie; it actually makes the pie bigger!

Capitalism with a conscience does that, but for the last 40 years American capitalism has become completely unfettered to any ethical core. Trickle down economics supported by govt policy has allowed crony capitalism to radically exploit both people & planet thru deregulation etc

I agree “crony capitalism” is bad. The solution is to take more power away from the government so that they can’t pick winners & losers anymore. The path out of crony capitalism is toward laissez-faire capitalism

More privatization, lower corporate tax rates & more deregulation just gives corporations more opportunity to exploit workers and destroy the environment. Government doing nothing IS aiding & abetting crony capitalism.

I disagree. The “crony” part refers to using their government cronies to advance outside of the free market system. Getting the govt out of the way ensures that businesses can’t take advantage of their connections in govt anymore and instead consumers can make true free exchanges
