The fact that Mitch McConnell feels the need to public assure everyone that the purpose of voter suppression laws is not to suppress votes, means: 1) oh yes they are, 2) Repubs are nervous that people can see that, and 3) our not taking it lying down is absolutely the right thing

Lowering the voting age to 16 and making DC a state are perfectly fine and have nothing to do with making it easier for Dems to win elections.

Marianne, you really believe in your heart of hearts that lowering the voting age is simply expanding the franchise? Also, do you think making it illegal to give things out to people on line to vote has anything to do with the shameful legacy of Jim Crow legislation?
