DC statehood does not preclude Puerto Rico statehood. But Puerto Ricans should be the ones to decide whether they wish to seek it; not all do.

Time and time again the people of Puerto Rico have voted among themselves and voiced that they do indeed want statehood, it’s a matter of the house and Congress passing the bill to make it happen.
